I. Kintsugi Class
Date: 18 or 19 July
Time: 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Early Bird: RM 1,350 (Register before 30 June 2026)
Fees: RM 1,900 / pax
Course Syllabus:
1. Introduction to materials.
2. Guidance on equipment operation and usage.
3. Learning the steps of adhesive preparation, assembling, filling, polishing, and applying gold.
4. Hands-on practice.
5. Participants may bring their own items for repair with on-site assistance from the instructor.
6. The course includes all necessary tools, lacquer, brushes, and materials.
7. Bonus: Material pack worth RM 580 and a tea accessory worth RM 50.
II. Mother of Pearl Kintsugi Class
Date: 18 or 19 July
Time: 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm
Early Bird: RM 450 (Register before 30 June 2026)
Fees: RM 700 / pax
Note: Meal included; Only available for participants of the Kintsugi Class.
Course Syllabus:
1. Discussion on selecting and using different repair materials + material introduction.
2. Preparation, assembling, filling, polishing, and gold application using various repair materials.
3. Hands-on practice (participants must bring their own items for on-site repair). It is recommended to bring objects that seem difficult to restore to accelerate the learning process.
4. Course materials, equipment, tools, and supplies will be provided.
5. Bonus: Mother of pearl and materials worth RM 200.
Important Notes
- Course Duration & Dates: This is a one-day course available on either 18 or 19 July. We will prioritize filling the slots for 18 July first; registration for 19 July will only open once the first session is at full capacity.
- Class Size & Registration: To ensure the highest quality of instruction, each session is limited to 8 students. Seats are secured on a first-come, first-served basis upon receipt of payment.
- Bring Your Own Items: You are welcome to bring your own broken items for repair. The instructor will provide on-site guidance on the best restoration techniques for your piece.
- Pre-class Consultation: If you plan to bring an item, please contact Shin in advance with clear photos of the object. Shin will evaluate whether the item is suitable for repair or if it requires specialized restoration methods.
- Group Perk: For group registrations of 2 or more people signing up for both the Kintsugi and Mother of Pearl classes, each participant will receive a special gift from Hi Tea Malaysia.
